Privacy Policy
Youth With A Mission Latvia (YWAM Latvia) informs visitors to this website that it processes personal data in accordance with the GDPR and other applicable European Union and Republic of Latvia regulations concerning the protection of personal data.
What does GDPR mean?
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Its purpose is to protect natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data.
The GDPR aims to safeguard the privacy of individuals within the European Union in accordance with European legal standards.
Since May 25, 2018, the GDPR has been directly applicable and fully binding for data processing and protection throughout the European Union, including Latvia, replacing the previously applicable Personal Data Protection Law.
The GDPR was developed to harmonize personal data processing requirements across the European Union, allowing citizens greater control over their personal data—easier access to their information, notification if their data has been compromised, clearer rights to have their data erased (“the right to be forgotten”), the right to object, and other protections.
What is Personal Data?
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Personal data includes information that can directly or indirectly identify an individual, particularly by reference to an identifier such as a person’s name, surname, personal identification number, location data, online identifier, or one or more factors specific to that person’s physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity.
In other words, personal data is various types of information that, when combined, can be used to identify a specific person.
