The city of Riga is a highly fluid and ever changing city. With Latvia’s regained independence since the crumbling of the Soviet Union in 1991, and it’s rebuilding and development as a nation, this is a significant juncture presently and for the future. Riga plays a key role in Latvia and as a regional centre, it is an extraordinary time to participate in seeing God’s Kingdom more firmly established here in the city and witness transformation in the spheres of society.
YWAM Riga is decentralized in it’s structure. We don’t see a building as our base, but see the city as our base. We are focusing on creative ways to reach and disciple this and the coming generation as well as impact various spheres of society. Our main ministries at the moment are Freedom 61 and Wings for Wheels.
YWAM Valdemarpils is situated in an old manor house in a peaceful, scenic area near a beautiful lake and dense forests. Our team is focused on discipleship through various training programs, camps, and events. We also are a mobilizer for missions, launching teams to all over Latvia and to the nations. We have a special focus on children and youth, through Kings Kids. And we use Ropes Course (team building), and NIKO wilderness camps for a different way to train.
Family Centre is a beautiful, peaceful retreat centre located in Liepaja city region, and close proximity to the Lithuanian border.
It is a special place that can serve our Family Ministry Latvia vision. The property is in the forest and covers an area of 9 acres (3,6 ha). There are 8 buildings, wooded areas, a large pond and a meadow.
We believe and know that this place will serve to bring a blessing to families from Latvia and abroad.
